rainy days and mondays

with hopes of making it to the park before it started raining, we got dressed and made a speedy exit.  unfortunately the playground equipment was still wet from the night's rain, so we took a scenic drive to our indoor park, ikea.  the kids never get dropped off to play in smalland, but we find ways to have fun throughout the store.  we're thankful that they are working on changing some of the displays.  we can't really use the excuse of "looking for inspiration" since we had already seen the same setups several times now.  we hit up our usual haunts in that area (and we visited an h&m with a children's section, that we will definitely have to stop by again soon!) and returned home with exhausted children.

on a golden afternoon

with the climbing temperatures (oh, please keep climbing) here in philadelphia, we decided to pretend it was already spring.  off we went into the belly of a shark to have an impromptu tea party.

carter's early spring 2011

here's hoping that carter's continues moving in this direction.  the color profile of this collection is refreshing amongst the pastels and brights of most of their other offerings.  the floral details and ruffles add a subtle femininity that mirrors an adult wardrobe, which is another welcome change.
